What is PT Legal Bot?

An AI assistant for navigating Portuguese legislation for the self-employed, freelancers, and expats. It helps you find relevant laws, tax rules, and obligations.

How does it work?

We use Claude (Anthropic) to generate answers in natural language.
RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) searches real legal sources before answering, so responses are grounded in official texts.
Each answer includes references to specific articles and sources so you can verify.

Answers are based on:

Diário da República Eletrónico (DRE) — Portuguese legislation
Portal das Finanças (AT) — tax authority guides
Segurança Social — social security
EUR-Lex — EU regulations

Limitations

AI can make mistakes — always confirm important decisions with a professional.
This is not a substitute for a contabilista or advogado.
Coverage focuses on areas such as IRS, IVA, Segurança Social, and business registration.
The system may not reflect the very latest legal changes.
